In power stations all over the world Wendel Email ensures – clean air
ONLY ENAMELLED HEAT EXCHANGERS
are suitable for use in coal-fired power stations to reduce air pollution and improve performance. Any other material would be destroyed by the aggressive exhaust gases within a very short period of time. Enamelled heat exchangers show outstanding resistance to high exhaust gas temperatures and sulphuric condensation over many years. Enamelled heat exchangers allow environmentally-friendly and economically efficient operation of coal-fired power plants. Enamel withstands high temperatures and strong acids and ensures – clean air.

According to RAL 529 A (1940), enamel is a mass that is produced by melting or fritting; an inorganic and essentially oxidic composition fused onto metallic components in one or more layers, partly with additives.
Depending on the quenching process of the smelt, granules or flake-shape substances (so-called flakes) are produced when quenched with water or during the roller cooling. Granules and flakes are called enamel frits.
